German telecommunications provider NetCologne will launch a multiscreen IPTV platform on May 2, 2016.
Through NetTV, NetCologne broadband customers will be able to receive around 80 TV channels, partially in HD quality, in addition to telephony and internet services, for €9.99 per month. An additional fee of €6.00 per month is charged for rental of the set-top-box. Access is possible via TV set, computer, smartphone or tablet.
Through the time-shift function, viewers can pause as well as fast forward and rewind the currently watched programme. The smartphone app enables remote recordings on the receiver’s hard-disk.
The NetTV box also contains several apps, for example the catch-up TV services from ARD, ZDF and KiKA as well as video-on-demand service maxdome.
The precondition for NetTV is an internet or telephone/internet subscription from NetCologne with a data rate of at least 25Mbps.
NetTV enables the Cologne-based company to offer a TV package to customers outside the footprint of its classic cable network.
