Altice-owned SFR has outlined plans for its proposed sports channels, which are to be called SFR Sport 1,2,3,4 and 5.
The new channels will be made available to subscribers to the SFR TV platforms, but also to third parties including Orange, Free, Bouygues and Canalsat.
SFR Sport 1 will be the main premium sports channel on which the live games of the UK’s Premier League will be broadcast.
SFR Sport 2 will broadcast programme that until now were carried on the company’s Ma Chaine Sport channel and includes Premiership rugby, Pro A, circuit WTA, Ligue des champions de Volley games.
The plans also call for a non-stop sports news channel and an offer in 4K/Ultra HD.
The company’s thematic sports channels Ma Chaine Sport and MCS Tennis will cease operation. The news follows an earlier announcement that Altice is consolidating its media interests in SFR.
