The Communications Regulatory Agency (RAK) in Bosnia & Herzegovina has submitted a draft decision on how to use the country’s first DTT multiplex (Mux A) for public consultation.
In a statement, the regulator says that the main element of the decision is that public broadcasting services, for which the entire multiplex was to be initially allocated, should be granted no more than 40% of its capacity.
The remaining capacity would be made available to other TV stations on the basis of where they had their analogue transmitters as of June 17, 2015.
The decision also says that all TV stations using Mux A would be required to contribute to the cost of maintaining equipment.
Ultimately, the aim of the decision is to speed up the digitisation process, including the transition to DVB-T2.
