Canal Digital and Discovery Networks are not commenting on suggestions that the programmer has reduced its demands in the carriage dispute that has removed its channels from Nordic screens.
The two parties were called into the ministry of culture on Thursday afternoon. The ministry has stressed that its only interest is in getting a solution for the benefit of viewers.
Dagens Næringsliv reported the fee asked by Discovery has been reduced from NOK 25 to NOK 20, though this would still result in additional revenues for the broadcaster of NOK 300 million (€31 million) over five years.
Channels including TV Norge in Norway, Kanal 5 in Sweden and Denmark, Discovery Channel, TLC, ID and Eurosport have been absent from Canal Digital’s cable and satellite homes since Tuesday.
