Poland’s leading cable operator UPC Polska will stop carrying the NBCUniversal Networks International channels 13 Ulica, Universal Channel and E! at the end of February.
Speaking to Wirtualne Media, Michal Fura, UPC Polska’s spokesman, said that the operator had decided not to renew its agreement with Universal Networks International.
However, he added that UPC Polska had added a number of channels, including nSport, Paramount HD and Polsat Viasat History to its offer last year. It had also increased the number of titles in its MyPrime son demand service, some of which are series showm on Universal channels.
Meanwhile, NBCUniversal Networks International has expressed disappointment with UPC Polska’s decision.
It also notes that in the last two years 13 Ulica, Universal Channel and E! have seen their audience figures grow by 46% and market sgare by 37% in Poland.
