German cable operator Unitymedia has commenced offering its customers selected programmes from commercial TV channels RTL and VOX as part of its video-on-demand (VOD) service TV Archive.
Programmes from RTL II, Super RTL, RTL Nitro and n-tv as well as pay-TV channels RTL Crime, RTL Living and RTL Passion will follow later this year.
The content of the free-to-air TV channels remains available for up to 30 days after its TV broadcast free of charge while the subscription channels’ content will be accessible by Unitymedia’s pay-TV customers a maximum of seven days following its TV broadcast.
The collaboration is based on the VOD agreement signed by Unitymedia and broadcast group Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland in November 2015.
