The sister channels Markiza and Nova International will both make their debuts on February 1.
Parabola reports that in the case of Markiza International, it will be targeted at viewers in the Czech Republic and effectively replace TV Markiza, TV Doma and TV Dajto, which do not have the right to broadcast in the country.
On the other hand, Czech cable, DTH and IPTV operators will be legally entitled to distribute Markiza International.
The situation will be mirrored in Slovakia, where Nova International will effectively replace TV Nova, Nova Cinema, TV Fanda, Telka and TV Smichov. It, too, will be fully licensed to operate in Slovakia.
Both channels are part of their respective TV channel groups Markiza and Nova, in Slovakia and the Czech Republic respectively, and owned by CME.
