Up to half (48%) of Polish viewers would prefer to buy their channels on an à la carte basis, with HBO, Canal+, Discovery and NatGeo their most favoured choices.
In a study named Projekt Cyfrowizja ll, undertaken by MEC, it was shown that such a choice was most preferred by male viewers (55%), viewers aged 25-34 (56%) and inhabitants of large towns (over 57%).
Interestingly, à la carte was also the most favoured option of subscribers to the DTH platform nc+ (60%).
Those of other DTH/cable platforms – UPC (52%), Cyfrowy Polsat (48), Multimedia Polska (48%) and Vectra (45%) – were also well disposed to the idea.
