The Czech regulator RRTV has awarded CET 21 a 12-year licence to operate Nova International, a new 24-hour general channel, for both the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Significantly, the licence in addition allows the channel to be distributed buy Voyo, the SVOD service operated by CME-backed TV Nova. CET 21 is also the licence holder for TV Nova and its other services in the Czech Republic.
Other licences awarded by RRTV include a 12-year satellite one to Festival, a new movie channel operated by Film Europe, for both the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and DTT licences to V1 and Modern Production Company (both regional, for channels named VCTV and rtm plus respectively) and TVSat multimedia (local, TVML).
