The Czech incumbent O2 has introduced a new set-top box that allows its O2 TV service to be received on any TV set with internet access from any provider.
Costing CZK2,136 (€79) and available from December 1, the box gives access to the 58 channels currently contained in the O2 TV air M. They include a number of thematic services, among them Disney Channel, National Geographic and AMC, along with six ports channels that complement O2 Sport in HD.
The new box also gives access to the same interactive features already enjoyed by existing O2 TV customers.
According to David Duron, chief marketing officer for the household segment, O2 has been developing the new box for almost a year.
He also said that to watch O2 Sport in HD viewers would require an internet connection of at least 6 Mbps.
