The global OTT service Divan.TV plans to launch a Polish package later this year.
According to Andrey Kolodyuk, the service’s founder, it will be the next stage in its development, Divan.TV having initially targeted a 300 million Russian/Ukrainian speaking audience from the former Soviet Union (15 countries) living worldwide.
Now, it will also target Europeans living outside their home countries (Polish, German, Spanish and French speakers worldwide), along with Asians (Indian, Chinese).
Divan.TV was commercially launched in 2012 and has so far attracted 800,000 users to its free and premium subscription service. It was rolled out globally to 200 countries in February 2015 and has agreements in place with over 200 TV channels.
Divan.TV’s integrated service of live TV, VOD, catch up and cloud DVR can be received on any screen in every one of these countries.
The service is distributed by over 42 ISPs. Although it can be received on a wide range of devices, 70% of its viewers access it on smart TVs.
