Popular entertainment channels RTP. SIC and TVI are in dispute with the new owners of Portuguese cablenet MEO over carriage payments.
Correio da Manha reports the three channels have sent a joint letter to media regulator Entidade Reguladora para a Comunicação Social after being told by MEO’s new owners Altice that payments would cease when their current contracts expire at the end of the year.
The companies current receive an annual payment of €6 million.
It’s understood the regulator has previously held separate and combined talks with the channels concerned.
