The Moscow Commercial Court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Sony Music Entertainment (Russia) against the state broadcaster VGTRK.
According to the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI), the claim was for R1.5 million (€20,500) in compensation for the use of audio records.
It adds that earlier this month Sony won a similar case against the entertainment channel Pyatnitsa, when it was awarded R500,000.
A third lawsuit, filed against Channel One, Russia’s leading broadcaster, will be heard on September 16.
In this instance, Sony will also be seeking R500,000 for the alleged rights violation.
