Internet access has again been the main growth driver for German cable operator Kabel Deutschland in the past quarter (April 1-June 30, 2015) with 102,000 new broadband contracts signed.
The figure includes around 22,000 Vodafone DSL customers who changed over to cable internet. The Vodafone subsidiary offers 100Mbps internet across its whole cable network. Around 4 million households can use 200Mbps.
99,000 new contracts were signed for cable telephony. In total, 2.8 million of Kabel Deutschland’s 8.3 million customers have now signed up for internet and telephony via cable (one year ago: 2.3 million customers).
Turnover climbed by 7.1% to €526 million with net profit rising from €47 million to €66 million. The ARPU increased by 7.8% to €19.25 per month.
