The Slovenian incumbent Telekom Slovenije is understood to be one of the parties to have submitted a non-binding offer for its Serbian counterpart.
Quoting STA, Balkan News reports that the Slovenian company, which is itself soon likely to be privatised, would not comment on the development, news of which was obtained “from an unofficial but well-placed source”.
According to Finance, other parties to have expressed an interest in Telekom Srbija include the private equity funds Advent International, Apollo, Colbeck Capital/Ron Burkle, as well as Deutsche Telekom, France Telekom and American Movil.
As previously reported in Broadband TV News, Carlos Slim, who owns the latter, may bid directly for the Serbian telco rather than through Telekom Austria, in which he is a majority shareholder.
