Orange Polska has undertaken its first trial of G.fast technology for services currently offered via FTTH, including HDTV, VoIP and internet access at 300/30 Mbps.
In its Polish blog, the company says it took place at Orange Labs last month and went well.
It adds that it should eventually pave the way for internet access at up to 500 Mbps for its customers.
G.fast technology is designed for buildings where it is impossible to install FTTH directly to customers’ properties.
t employs Drop line Agnostic (DLA), which implies the use of various transmission media available to customers, including cable, coaxial or Ethernet cable.
Orange Polska plans to undertake a pilot of G.fast technology before the end of this year.
