Nintendo is closing down its TVii service on August 11.
“We sincerely thank you for all of your engagement within the community and the Nintendo TVii service. We look forward to your contributions within our many other Miiverse communities,” the company wrote in an announcement.
At the same time, Nintendo will be closing the Nintendo TVii Miiverse community.
Nintendo TVii was launched in North America in December 2013 and the European release was expected to follow by the end of the year, but never materialised. In February 2015 Nintendo announced that its TVii service has officially been canceled in Europe.
TVii turns the Wii U gamepad into a touch-screen remote and smart programme guide that incorporates online services into live television for following your favourite shows, movies, and sports teams.
