The Hungarian public broadcaster’s first channel M1 has had to be taken off the air due to a multitude of technical problems.
According to BBJ and Origo, it happened on the first day (March 15) of the channel’s transformation into a 24-hour news-based service.
László Zsolt Szábo, the CEO of the Hungarian Media Authority, has played down the channel’s problems, saying that, “only people who do not work do not make mistakes”.
The public broadcaster is understood to have spent HUF80 billion (€274.5 million) on its restructuring.
