WATCH VIDEO.Italian sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport is launching its own sports channel on the DTT network today, February 26.
The new channel will be available on the country’s digital terrestrial network at channel 59 nationwide.
The channel promises to bring sports news, talk shows as well as live coverage of Series A basketball and volleyball games.
There will be daily news bulletins compiled by the journalists of Gazzetta between 7am and midnight for a total of 2,000 hours a year.
450 hours of talk shows a year are planneed including commentary on football games from the studios of Via Rizzoli in Milan.
La Gazzetta dello Sport is part of the RCS media group, based in Milan. Through its shares in Gruppo Finelco (34,6%), it manages three national FM radio stations: Radio 105 Network, Radio Monte Carlo (Italy and Switzerland) and Virgin Radio Italia. The group also has a 5% share in Raisat.
