France’s TV5Monde has signed a multi-year agreement with the Russian telco Rostelecom.
It covers the distribution of the channel on Interactive TV networks in the whole of Russia and the digital TV service Onlime in Moscow.
TV5Monde is now available with Russian subtitles on the main DTH, cable and IPTV platforms in Russia, reaching over 4.5 million households.
Commenting on the deal, Jean-Luc Cronel, worldwide distribution & marketing director at TV5Monde, said: “This is very exciting times for TV5Monde. Russia is strategic for us and we are very proud to partner with Rostelecom on this new agreement.”
Rostelecom currently has over 7.8 million pay-TV subscribers throughout Russia.
