Broadband cable services continue to gain in popularity in Hungary, with the number of subscriptions reaching 1,023,939 as of the end of 2014, according to data published by the regulator NMHH.
Of these, over half (5900,658) were via DOCSIS 3.0.
In both instances, the totals were based on data supplied by market leaders. Meanwhile, the number of FTTx subscriptions stood at 392,748, while a further 784,031 opted for xDSL to receive broadband services.
There was no change in terms of market leadership in the provision of broadband services in Hungary, with the top four companies being Telekom (35.8%), UPC (21.9%), Digi (14.2%) and Invitel (9.5%) as of the end of 2014.
