The Russian DTH platform NTV-Plus has announced a series of price increases, effective February 1.
According to the company, they are applicable to subscribers residing in parts of Russia covered by Eutelsat W4 and W7, and “in accordance with the unification of the Eutelsat 36A and 36 B satellites”.
Separately, at a press conference ahead of the start of the CSTB Conference and Exhibition in Moscow, Mikhail Goryachev, the content director at Tricolor TV, Russia’s leading DTH platform, said that despite the new market conditions the pay-TV market should continue to grow, reaching a penetration figure of 83% by 2017.
He added that Tricolor TV plans to increase the number of its subscribers receiving HD services this year by exchanging their reception equipment.
