Canal Digital has finally announced its on demand service Canal Digital Go, launching initially on the iPad, with plans to later extend to other devices.
All of the Nordic operator’s customers will be able to receive a selection of 21 live TV channels and a weekly archive of over 1,000 different titles. A further 13 channels and another 2,000 shows and movies will be available to premium subscribers.
“In the future, we will launch a number of new services in the app while we will post several new TV channels, says Roger Von Zernichow, acting CEO, Canal Digital Norway. What content and TV channels you have access to will be determined on the basis of what TV subscription you have. The content on the iPad will as far as possible, reflect what you have in your TV subscription.”
While initially free to the entire installed base, from March 2015 Canal Digital Go will be a part of the Canal Digital Plus tier.
The app promises live TV from TV 2, TV 2 Zebra, TV 2 Bliss, TV 2 Sport, TVN, MAX, VOX, FEM, Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior, Nick Jr, BBC World, BBC Lifestyle, BBC Knowledge, BBC Entertainment, Travel Channel, TLC, History, Nat Geo Wild and MTV.
