SPI International has announced at MIPCOM that it can now deliver 4K content on 4K IP-streaming supported devices such as smart TV platforms.
The technology applied by the company allows home subscribers to stream 4K content from the FilmBox Live VOD service using broadband internet and mobile networks.
It has been thoroughly tested on several platforms and already approved by manufacturers of devices supporting 4K streaming over the internet.
According to Berk Uziyel, executive director of Filmbox International, “Our new low-bandwidth 4K streaming technology offers Internet users the opportunity to stream 4K content using their regular residential Internet connection.
“We are currently talking to several major hardware partners who are eager to launch our app on their devices.”
FilmBox Live now features new videos shot in native 4K and SPI International is developing its first Ultra HD channel, called 4K FunBox.
SPI International is one of the few companies that make 4K quality streaming available to any operator on any 4K supported device.
