Lithuania is looking into the possibility of either limiting the availability of Russian TV channels or even placing a complete ban on them.
According to Satkurier and Mediasat, discussions between representative of the government and head of the Lithuanian cable association came to the conclusion.
In their view, the goal of such a move, which would be made without discussion, would be to defend the state.
However, the cable association believes it would not be easy, given there is currently no definition of what constitutes propaganda and operators cannot just turn off channels that have been available in Lithuania for 20 years.
The best solution would be for Russian channels to themselves stop transmissions via cable and DTH.
