DMAX, the German men’s channel operated by Discovery Networks, will launch a version of its service for viewers in neighbouring Austria on October 1, 2014 via cable and satellite.
From October 25, advertisers will be able to air commercials on DMAX Austria solely targeting the domestic Austrian audience. The advertising slots will be marketed by Goldbach Media Austria.
Satellite households will be able to receive DMAX Austria on Astra (19.2° East) on the frequency 12.148 GHz H (SR 27,500, FEC 3/4).
DMAX currently reaches 65% of Austrian households and achieves an average audience market share of 2.3% among its target group of men between 12 and 49 years of age.
Austria will also be more prominently featured in the schedule of DMAX. The free-to-air broadcaster already shot episodes of its TV formats Asphalt-Cowboys and Der Hobbyist in the Alpine republic. DMAX also wants to produce a full series for viewers in Austria in the near future.
