German commercial free-to-air channel Anixe HD has commenced offering Ultra HD content on its catch-up TV service Anixe Mediathek.
Documentaries are available at first with movies to follow as the next step. By the end of the year, 100 hours of movie content will be accessible on demand. The whole offering is free of charge.
To access the Ultra HD content in the catch-up TV service, viewers need an Ultra HD smart TV set compliant with interactive multimedia standard HbbTV and connected to the internet with a data rate of at least 25Mbps.
“Once an HD pioneer, always an HD pioneer: Ultra HD is on everyone’s lips as the new TV trend of the future and it’s now already available on our catch-up TV service,” Anixe HD’s managing director Jennifer Lapidakis said in Munich.
