TRACE Group has extended an agreement with TVCABO, one of the leading pay-TV operators in Angola and Mozambique.
As a result, TRACE Urban will continue to be carried by TVCABO.
Furthermore, it will start to distribute TRACE Urban French feed and TRACE Sport Stars for the first time.
The deal continues TRACE’s African expansion, following recent announcements about the new music channel TRACE Toca, also in Angola and Mozambique, along with a new deal with Montage and the appointment of its new COO for Africa.
João Botelho, TVCABO administrator, commented: “The two new channels will answer even more effectively and in a diversified way to our viewers’ preferences, reinforcing the music, lifestyle and urban culture proposals, with TRACE Urban, and reinforcing the sports proposals with TRACE Sport Stars, which is devoted exclusively to the life of famous athletes”.
Laurent Dumeau, CEO TRACE Sport Stars and SVP Distribution, said: “We are excited to be extending our footprint even further in Africa. With an ever-increasing demand for the TRACE brand in African regions and for unique sport, entertainment and music programming, we are confident this agreement will help TVCABO strengthen their position in the Angolan and Mozambican markets by delivering engaging and exciting content to their growing subscriber base”.
He added: “Africa remains a number 1 priority for TRACE, as the continent grows we want to grow with it hence the importance of further distribution and new business launches.”
