Sky Italia and Mediaset will both hold rights to air matches from Italy’s top eight football teams for the next three years.
Local media reported Sky Italia would have exclusive rights to broadcast matches from the other 12 teams in the top flight Serie A.
It means that Mediaset will broadcast fewer games than is the case at present.
Sky will pay €572 millon – much the same as under the current arrangement – while Mediaset will pay €373 million.
The Serie A rights were split into five packages. Sky and Mediaset had been prevented from holding total exclusivity due to their market position.
