OpenTV and Nagravision, two subsidiaries of Swiss technology company Kudelski, have filed three patent infringement suits against Apple at the Düsseldorf District Court in Germany.
The suits allege that Apple infringes three patents owned by OpenTV and Nagravision and seek, among other relief, to enjoin Apple from further infringement. The products and services accused of breaching the patents include iOS mobile devices (iPhone, iPad and iPod), Apple TV, App Store and OS X-based personal computers.
Additionally, Kudelski announced that it has appointed two new members to its intellectual property & innovation leadership team: David Fligor and Clay Gaetje have been appointed as vice presidents of licensing reporting to Joe Chernesky, senior vice president intellectual property & innovation.
Fligor was most recently vice president corporate development & strategy at TiVo and Gaetje was previously vice president licensing at Rovi.
