Hungary ended last month with 970,295 cable broadband subscriptions, of which close to half (45.8%) were via DOCSIS 3.0.
At the same time, according to data published by the regulator NMHH, the number of broadband subscriptions via FTTx stood at 362,707, while the xDSL subscriber total was 776,038.
The incumbent Magyar Telekom maintained its position as the market leader in the fixed broadband sector, its share of 35.7% being almost the same as that of its two nearest competitors UPC (21.8%) and Digi (14%) combined.
It was followed by Invitel (9.4%), Tarr (2.6%), PR Telekom (2.1%), ViDaNet (1.9%), GTS-Hungary (0.7%), Parisat (0.5%) and other service providers (11.2%).
