Alexander Makarov is no longer the CEO of Russia’s leading DTH platform Tricolor TV.
In a statement, the company says his departure was by mutual consent and before a replacement is appointed the CEO’s responsibilities will be assigned to Sergei Yurevich Stavropoltsev, currently the director of regional development.
Makarov was head of Tricolor TV since February 2012 and during his tenure the company’s subscriber base grew by 4.6 million to a total of 10 million paying customers.
This now makes it the largest DTH platform in Europe in terms of both total and paying subscribers.
Makarov also oversaw the addition of HD channels to Tricolor TV’s offer and they are now received in 3.1 million homes.
Furthermore, during his tenure both revenues and ARPU more than doubled.
Makarov will now pursue other interests not related to the activities of Tricolor TV.
