The Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) has announced that TV Trwam and TVP ABC will be allowed to start broadcasting on Poland’s first DTT multiplex on February 15.
In a statement, it says that this follows a decision by the regulator’s president to effectively reduce the period of validity of the licences held by the public broadcaster TVP to distribute its flagship channels TVP1 and TVP2, as well as regional programme, on the first multiplex.
The UKE also said it took into account complaints submitted by the public.
These, notes Broadband TV News, were in favour of TV Trwam securing at DTT licence.
Although TVP has exclusive use of the third multiplex, it will still retains a foothold in the first multiplex through its new children’s channel TVP ABC.
