Over 40% of cable broadband connections in Hungary are now via the high-speed DOCSIS 3.0. Data published by the regulator NMHH shows that as of November 2013 there were 943,952 broadband cable connections in the country, based on data provided by market leader cable providers, covering 82.8% of all cable modem subscriptions.
Of these, 408,928 were via DOCSIS 3.0, while the total number of xDSL and FTTx subscriptions, again based on data provided by market leaders, was 767,466 and 353,635 respectively.
The total number of fixed access broadband subscriptions stood at 2,280,000.
Magyar Telekom was the leading provider, with a market share of 35.7%. It was followed by UPC (21.9%), Digi (13.9%) and Invitel (9.3%).
