Netflix has secured access to a range of popular Cartoon Network and Cartoonito TV series.
It’s the first time that content from Cartoon Network has been available on subscription in the UK and Ireland.
“We are delighted to be bringing these Cartoon Network titles to our members in the UK and Ireland,” said Kelly Merryman, vice president of content acquisition at Netflix. “The relatable humour found in these shows are great for ‘kids’ of all ages. We are very happy to provide a subscription streaming home for these popular animated series.”
Included in the package are seasons one and two of Powerpuff Girls, revolving around the adventures of Blossom, Buttercup and Bubbles – super powered kindergartners with a knack for crime fighting; season one of LazyTown, following uber-healthy superhero Sportacus, sidekick Stephanie and the newly exercise-inspired residents of LazyTown and their fight against the exercise-averse Robbie Rotten; and seasons one and two of Courage the Cowardly Dog, following the easily frightened, Courage, a dog living in a farmhouse with the Bagge family in the fictional town of Nowhere, Kansas.
