A+E Networks UK continues the expansion of its factual entertainment channel History in Norway following a pay DTT deal with RiksTV.
History will be available to RiksTV subscribers from December 5, 2013, giving their 500,000 subscribers to Norway’s national digital terrestrial television network, the opportunity to access top-rated shows including Pawn Stars, Storage Wars and Duck Dynasty.
Bakori Davis, VP of commercial operations, A+E Networks UK, said: “The launch of History on RiksTV marks another important step towards our full distribution in Norway. We are confident that Norwegian viewers will enjoy the great range of exciting programming that History has to offer.”
The deal comes after Christian Høyer joined A+E Networks UK in September. Høyer is responsible for leading affiliate distribution efforts in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland.
Jérôme Franck-Sætervoll, product and business development director at RiksTV, said: “History is a quality channel with a unique slate of programmes that has proven able to attract viewers across the world and here in Norway. We are certain that our viewers will welcome History and look forward to including it in our basic package.”
