Requests to the BBC iPlayer continue to climb, reflecting a general upward trend in on demand viewing.
There were 261 million BBC iPlayer requests in October, an increase of 23% on October 2012, with 199 million TV requests being the third highest figure ever-recorded.
The list of the most watched programmes was topped by the comedy premiere of Bad Education. The show was released on the iPlayer ahead of its linear transmission and pulled in an audience of 1,926,000, a figure many smaller channels can only dream of, and higher than the much-touted Great British Bake Off.
Mobile and tablet requests increased to a new high of 37% of total requests, and are almost in line with computers
