CTC-International has begun broadcasting on Bell, Canada’s largest TV operator.
It is being made available to subscribers on the Bell Fibe cable service and has a grid that is very similar to that of the channel’s original Russian version.
The Bell Fibe TV package contains over 50 channels from around the world and has over 500,000 subscribers.
It expects to increase its coverage to 5 million homes by 2015.
Commenting on the development, Evgeny Kirichuk, CTC Media’s international broadcasting director, said: “Canada has over half a million Russian-speaking residents. The demand for quality, Russian-language television content in this country is extraordinarily high. Thanks to Bell, CTC’s entertainment projects will finally appear on many of the country’s TV screens.”
CTC-International is owned by CTC Media. One of the leading commercial broadcasters in Russia, it operates the TV channels CTC, Domashny and Peretz in its home market, as well as Channel 31 in Kazakhstan.
