Romania’s RCS&RDS gained half a million fixed line internet subscribers in two and a half years, ending 2012 with over 1.6 million.
Quoting information contained in a bond issue prospectus in which the company sought to borrow €450 million from international markets, ZF adds that RCS&RDS claimed a 36% share of the internet market in Romania in 2009.
By the end of 2012, that figure had risen to 46.7%. RCS&RDS also had 2.3 million cable TV subscribers, or 61% of the country’s total, at the end of 2012.
RCS&RDS posted revenues of €314.6 million in the first half of this year. Its EBITDA amounted to €133.5 million and it had a net loss of €0.9 million.
RCS&RDS operates under the brand name Digi and is the leading cable and DTH provider in Romania.
