Matt Rennie has been appointed as the new managing director of Box Television, Channel 4 has announced.
The former enterprise director of Global Radio has previously held senior commercial and business development roles held at SeeSaw, Virgin Media, Warner Music and Channel 4.
Sarah Rose, Channel 4’s director of commercial & business development said: “Matt is a talented and highly respected music executive with a strong background in digital, broadcasting and music. We look forward to having him on board to take the Box TV business forward in this rapidly changing media and music landscape.”
Rennie will be responsible for managing the entire Box TV portfolio composed of seven music TV channels – 4Music, The Box, Kiss, Kerrang!, Magic, Heat and Smash Hits – and will directly lead the commercial development strategy across platforms, advertisers, record labels and shareholders to grow the business.
He replaces Gidon Katz, who left in July to join Sky’s NOW TV.
