Telenor has announced it will close its online TV platform Comoyo with the loss of 40 jobs.
Launched in the summer of 2011, Comoyo was envisaged as an internet services company, designed initially to give consumers in the Nordic region a one-time login to content, regardless of the platform.
The idea was then to sell the packages to Telenor’s broadband customers as a rival to the big international players including HBO and Netflix.
Sven Thaulow, the CEO of Comoyo, blamed the demise on the cost of content and market competition.
