The soon-to-be-launched channel Slovak Sport.TV3 will initially be distributed terrestrially and over the web.
However, it will not use satellite distribution, according to Robert Gregus, TV director at Slovak Sport.TV, quoted by Zive.
He added that at launch, which is scheduled for September, Slovak Sport.TV3 would employ the (local) terrestrial transmitter network operated by the company Avis.
It is also speaking with the country’s main multiplex operator Towercom.
Due to licensing rights, Slovak Sport.TV3 will only be available in Slovakia. It will also be offered solely in SD.
Slovak Sport.TV is one of the leading sports broadcasters in Slovakia and holds a number of lucrative rights.
These include those to the Barclays Premier League, which is carried on Slovak Sport.TV2 and shown exclusively by Slovak Telekom.
