The Russian broadcaster CTC Media has benefitted from growth in the country’s TV ad market, posting revenue growth in both the second quarter and first half of this year.
Its total operating revenues in Q2 amounted to $206,015,000 (€155,148,000), a 10% rise on the same period last year, while in ruble terms the increase was 13%.
CTC Media’s half-year revenues were $279,611,000, or 11% more than a year earlier and 13% higher in ruble terms.
On the other hand, net income in Q2 was $31,593,000, or 7% and 4% down in dollar and ruble terms respectively on a year earlier.
The half-year figure was $60,181,000, down by 10% and 7% respectively on a year earlier.
CTC Media continues to make progress on the digital front and its CTC channel is now among the top five most popular smart TV widgets in Russia.
Furthermore, in Q2 the number of unique monthly visitors across all digital platforms on which CTC Media is present averaged 8.7 million, a two-fold increase year-on-year.
