Telecom Italia has posted network operator revenues of €38.6 million for the first half of this year, a €0.9 million increase on the corresponding period in 2012.
EBITDA and EBIT were meanwhile €21.6 million (-€0.4 million) and €7.4 million (-€1.7 million).
As of the end of June, the three digital multiplexes operated by the unit’s Telecom Italia Media Broadcasting (TIMB) covered 95% of the Italian population and distributed 20 TV channels.
TIMB’s performance has been isolated from that of LA7 and MTV Italia, which are now classified under discontinued operations.
Commenting on the company’s results, chairman Severino Salvemini said: “With the disposal of the Group’s television channels, and encouraged by the positive performance of the Network Operator TIMB, we have achieved a focused and sustainable industrial organisation of an infrastructural nature, with positive and, to a large extent, foreseeable cash flows. We are committed to focus on leadership and technological excellence and, thanks to our excellent positioning on the market, to establish the company as an independent network operator of reference, which is already serving more than twenty television channels.”
