Fashion One, the international channel for fashion, entertainment and lifestyle television, will launch a dedicated feed in Belgium on Telenet on July 15.
The international television network, targeting to fully localise the channel by the end of the year, caters to the country’s female audience, covering the very latest fashion, entertainment, and lifestyle news, profiles of A-list celebrities, luxury brands, holiday destinations and red carpet events. Fashion One also delivers a strong lineup of original programming from reality shows, documentaries, beauty tips and street styling. All of these can be enjoyed on the channel as well as on Yelo TV,Telent’s TV Everywhere service, on tablets, smartphones and computers.
Fashion One also announced a media partnership with Sanoma Media Belgium, starting September 2013. The channel will work with the editorial team of Feeling and Marie Claire magazines in Belgium to produce video content featuring the interviews of local fashion designers, models and fashion related stories for the Belgium feed with short edits and teasers available on website of both magazines.
“We are happy to launch the service with Telenet which allows our subscribers to choose where and how they want to consume our programmes,” said Fashion One’s CEO, Ashley Jordan, in a statement. “Belgium has one of the most active and exciting fashion scenes in Europe today and is also the home of the most acclaimed and respected fashion academy of the world.
“From Raf Simons to Ann Demeulemeester, from AF Vandevorst to Walter Van Beirendonck and a group promising new generation designers, Fashion One will put the spotlight on the local designers for the local audience with increasing investment in local production through the partnership with Sanoma Media Belgium. This ultimate collaboration between printed media and television is embracing the evolution of fashion media and will give an exclusive insight in the fashion industry in Belgium,” added Ashley.
“Telenet is happy to offer Fashion One, an international renown fashion channel, that will bring, especially for the Flemish market, a dedicated feed. Its international programmes will be completed with Flemish shows, produced in cooperation with Sanoma Media Belgium. We believe strongly in this project, as it is a unique asset in our channel offer,” says Ann Caluwaerts, SVP media and public affairs, Telenet.
The channel will debut with a special event on the Amsterdam Fashion Week 2013, and give special spotlight on local designers including Tom Van der Borght, Sophie Claes and Nathalie Lijsebettens. All programmes will be produced or subtitled in Flemish by the end of the year.
Fashion One will be, during summer, offered for free to all digital TV-subscribers of Telenet. During the month September the channel will be transferred to the pay-offer.
