LG Electronics is bringing its 55-inch curved OLED TV to Europe tentatively before the end of the year.
The LG EA9800 was shown for the first time at the 2013 International CES in Las Vegas. It features LG’s proprietary WRGB technology and an incredibly thin display (“thinner than a mobile phone”, according to the company).
The sets offer the viewer “an iMax-like experience at home”, according to Frans Hulshof, commercial director, LG Electronics Benelux, during a press presentation at the Amsterdam municipal museum of modern art.
LG’s WRGB technology is a four-colour pixel system featuring a white sub-pixel, which works in conjunction with the conventional RGB setup to create preferred colour output.
LG’s OLED TVs combine the company’s Cinema 3D technology with smart TV capabilities for a large number of OTT services
