Michael Lee has been appointed the MD for UPC DTH, the Luxembourg-based Liberty Global-owned company that provides satellite TV services in four Central and East European countries.
Lee has been CFO of UPC DTH since 2010 and joined Liberty Global in 2000 as group controller of the Broadband Division.
He was further involved in various integration/acquisition activities in France (Noos) and Switzerland (upc cablecom).
Lee replaces Magnus Ternsjö, who was recently appointed MD of UPC Ireland.
Commenting on both appointments, Diederik Karsten, executive VP of Liberty Global’s European Broadband Operations, said: “Both Magnus and Michael are ideally positioned to take their new roles at UPC Ireland and UPC DTH as they have many years of experience and a proven track record at Liberty Global as well as in the media and communications industry. Under Magnus’ leadership UPC DTH has year on year achieved double digit growth on most key metrics. I see Michael as an excellent successor to continue on this path. Both will continue to deliver profitable growth, excellent products and customer service excellence for the operations that they will lead.”
