Sky Deutschland has secured distribution for its 2TB Sky+ receiver across all of Germany’s cable networks.
Sky+ is also being made available to Unitymedia customers for the first time – effectively putting it in competition with the Horizon box when it is released in the next few months.
Dr Holger Enßlin, chief officer, legal, regulatory & distribution at Sky Deutschland said: “After an initial roll-out for satellite customers, our cable customers can now also enjoy our Sky+ 2TB receiver with massive storage space and extensive Sky Anytime service. Sky customers in North-Rhine Westphalia and Hesse have another reason to celebrate. For the first time, they can book the Sky+ receiver in the network of Unitymedia, opening up a new level of TV entertainment.”
Already available to satellite customers the box provides up to 600 hours in the personal archive and over 400 items on demand at all times via the Sky Anytime on demand service.
