The cloud-based Dreamgallery middleware offered by Motorala and Verimatrix digital rights management are the core of the hybrid DVB-C set-top box that TechniSat supplies to TKS Telepost Kabel-Service Kaiserslautern, a subsidiary of the Kabel Deutschland Group.
TKS has chosen TechniSat´s new platform which can be flexibly customized to different middleware, CA systems, or DRMs. The new TechniStar K supplied to TKS uses Dreamgallery middleware and Verimatrix as DRM specially prepared for easyTV, their state of the art IPTV package using DRM and middleware.
Dreamgallery is a cloud-based middleware which enables the operator to host their own services including UI and EPG on a centralized, cloud-based server on their own network. This together with the use of HTML5 provides the added benefit quick and easy customization.
Verimatrix is securing the IPTV part of the television offer.
According to Axel Grün, TKS Director of Operations, the Technistar K perfectly meets the special requirements of the new TKS easyTV product line: “EasyTV is a scalable IPTV service that provides state-of-the-art entertainment on a multi-device and multi-screen platform. With the flexibility and high quality of the hybrid Technistar K set-top box, we are able to provide our customers an unrivaled entertainment experience in digital TV services, IPTV streaming, and ‘on demand’ services”.
