Ericsson is to use ANGA COM as the location for the European debut of its new high performance compression platform, the AVP 4000.
First seen at NAB 2013, the AVP 4000 addresses multiple applications, regardless of codec, resolution or network.
The AVP 4000 is powered by Ericsson’s first-ever professional video chip, which combines 20 years of compression algorithms development and a software programmable platform. It can be upgraded to support MPEG-4 SD/HD, up to 4:2:2 10-bit, and even JPEG 2000. This makes the single platform also suitable for mezzanine delivery, ensuring that the cable headends are fed with the best possible quality video.
Also on display is the Ericsson Media Delivery Network, a single platform approach to the delivery of managed and unmanaged content across fixed and mobile platforms.
There will also be live demonstrations of MPEG-DASH adaptive streaming and Ultra High Definition TV (UHDTV) and multiscreen user interfaces for TV Anywhere.
